What is Gynecomastia?

  • Gyne = Female Like
  • Mastia = Breast

Gynecomastia is the term used for abnormal enlarged male breast. It is a common condition and affects more than 30 males.

Treatment of Gynecomastia

Surgery is the definitive or permanent cure for Gynecomastia. It is safe procedure.

At this centre we do a special small keyhole surgery for removal of Fat and Glands from the enlarged Male Breasts.

Procedure

Depending upon the type of Male breast enlargement we provide different procedures such as:

  • Liposuction or Suction Assisted Lipectomy (SAL) for mainly Fatty types.
  • Special small keyhole removal for both glands and fat in moderate types.
  • Open surgical removal via a small curved cut at nipple-skin junction for mixed types.
  • Combination of Liposuction and open surgery for mixed and very large types.
  • Open removal with skin excision for very severe types with excessive skin.

The surgery is totally painless as it is done under local or general anaesthesia.

The surgical procedure removes both glandular tissues and excessive fat. Through a small cut along the margins of the nipple entire tissues causing the bulge are removed by combination of direct excision and or Liposuction along with excessive skin if present. In some cases a negative pressure drain tube is kept under the skin for next 24 hour or to remove any excessive collection of fluid or blood. Most of the cases are sent back home the same evening with dressings applied over the chest wall. Stitches are removed after about 7 to 10 days and a pressure supportive band or elasticized vest like garment is worn for next 3 to 6 weeks to ensure proper healing.

Post Surgery (Pre & Post Results)

You are ambulatory or mobile on the day of surgery. Follow ups & dressings are done 3rd and 7th day. Long distance travel can be undertaken after 7 days. Heavy physical activities such as swimming or gyming are restricted for about 3 to 6 weeks, thereafter you can lead a normal active life.
